Survival Kit for Empaths and (HSP)

Being a highly sensitive person can be overwhelming when trying to fit in where you don't belong; it's a waste of time and energy.

HSP ( highly sensitive person) and Empaths characteristics.
(Elaine N. Aron, 1996)

Noticing sounds, sensations and smells that others miss (e.g.) clock ticking, the humming from a refrigerator, uncomfortable clothing.

Feeling deeply moved on visceral level by things like art , music and performance or nature.

"Pick up" others mood or have them affect you more deeply than most.

Being sensitive to pain or other physical sensations.

Peace and quiet environment are important to you.

Feel uneasy or overwhelmed in crowded and busy environment.

Startled/blush easily.

Dramatic impact on your mood.

Having food sensitivities. Allergies.

The biggest challenge in high sensitivity is probably being vulnerable to sensory or emotional overwhelm.

Living in a culture that discriminate sensivity and introversion that it makes worse to cope with it sometimes; the pressure of others to be "normal" extroverted, sociable, and outgoing. Being " too emotional" or "too sensitive " are criticised based on the majority of the population.

It can be hard to cope being born as an empath or a (hsp). Setting our boundaries clearly. Making time and space for ourselves is a must do in our lives.
Some tips for us.

Journaling.
The power of journali
ng is a powerful way to release stuck energy. Clear our minds from thoughts.

Stay away from people that are energy suckers.
They are unaware of course of the damage they do with their negative energy.

Meditation.
A powerful way to stay grounded and balanced.

Shielding yourself.
Protect your energy field. (Aura)

Eat healthy.
As an empath; you really are what you eat. A healthy body is essential for a healthy mind.

Nature.
Being outdoors in nature has a healing and grounding effect.

Exercise.
When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins.  Endorphins triggers a positive feeling in the body, simmilar to that of morphine ( do not do drugs, exercise ) it reduce stress levels, boosts your self steem, and improves your sleep. Makes you look fit and healthy.

Do art.
Use often your creative side, you don't have to be an expert on art. Your creative inner child will lead you; listen to it. Write, sing, paint, dance, and do whatever that makes you happy.

Love yourself in the process.
Lots of self care, and remember to stay away from assholes that makes you feel bad about being yourself. ( sorry, but it's really important)

DON'T EVER let the world convince you that you're someone you're NOT!

On Finding Joy In Life.

And here we are; we all want that thing called happiness. We search for it, work for it expecting it to find it in money, houses, and relationships .

The funny thing about it is that the more we want to achieve it the less we are to attain it, because it's not the future that holds it .( the future doesn't exist.)
We get worried and anxious if we are not happy or at least satisfaied in a long term; some of us work harder to get more money expecting to be happiest with the income ;instead we end stressed out feeling anxious and we lose control on ourselves making us  feel miserable.
As have been said: happiness can't be attained by pursuing material things or people. It's a personal thing and you can't be happy every single momment.  You'll have bad days ( we all do) and that's completely fine.
As we learn a bit how life works we'll see each day as a new opportunity to be better and kind to ourselves and others to not rely on expectations;  if expectations are not meet we'll end hurting ourselves.

Things to remember and practice for a joyful life.
  1. Be grateful with what you have.
  2. Be present in the momment, no matter what you're doing. ( chores or work doesn't have to be boring ; be present, mindful, and have fun.)
  3. Find joy in the little things that life offers to you.
  4. Help someone whenever you have the opportunity to. ( you could make their day; you never know what other people is going through.)
  5. Be kind to others; kindness is contagious.
  6. Be. Authentic and keep true to yourself.
  7. Smile more; it's contagious too.( now it sounds epidemic  I know.)
  8. Do more of what makes you happy.( that feeling when your heart jumps of happiness; You'll know it, pay attention.
  9. Bring out more often your inner child; your inner child knows lots of things about yourself that you've forgotten; he knows how to have fun too. (Embrace it)
  10. If you're blessed with true friendships, keep them close; nurture your friendship. ( remember; quality over quantity is oky.)
  11. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Not being perfect is completely fine. (No one is)
Happiness is an inside job; You'll have bad days but they won't define your life.
