Survival Kit for Empaths and (HSP)

Being a highly sensitive person can be overwhelming when trying to fit in where you don't belong; it's a waste of time and energy.

HSP ( highly sensitive person) and Empaths characteristics.
(Elaine N. Aron, 1996)

Noticing sounds, sensations and smells that others miss (e.g.) clock ticking, the humming from a refrigerator, uncomfortable clothing.

Feeling deeply moved on visceral level by things like art , music and performance or nature.

"Pick up" others mood or have them affect you more deeply than most.

Being sensitive to pain or other physical sensations.

Peace and quiet environment are important to you.

Feel uneasy or overwhelmed in crowded and busy environment.

Startled/blush easily.

Dramatic impact on your mood.

Having food sensitivities. Allergies.

The biggest challenge in high sensitivity is probably being vulnerable to sensory or emotional overwhelm.

Living in a culture that discriminate sensivity and introversion that it makes worse to cope with it sometimes; the pressure of others to be "normal" extroverted, sociable, and outgoing. Being " too emotional" or "too sensitive " are criticised based on the majority of the population.

It can be hard to cope being born as an empath or a (hsp). Setting our boundaries clearly. Making time and space for ourselves is a must do in our lives.
Some tips for us.

Journaling.
The power of journali
ng is a powerful way to release stuck energy. Clear our minds from thoughts.

Stay away from people that are energy suckers.
They are unaware of course of the damage they do with their negative energy.

Meditation.
A powerful way to stay grounded and balanced.

Shielding yourself.
Protect your energy field. (Aura)

Eat healthy.
As an empath; you really are what you eat. A healthy body is essential for a healthy mind.

Nature.
Being outdoors in nature has a healing and grounding effect.

Exercise.
When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins.  Endorphins triggers a positive feeling in the body, simmilar to that of morphine ( do not do drugs, exercise ) it reduce stress levels, boosts your self steem, and improves your sleep. Makes you look fit and healthy.

Do art.
Use often your creative side, you don't have to be an expert on art. Your creative inner child will lead you; listen to it. Write, sing, paint, dance, and do whatever that makes you happy.

Love yourself in the process.
Lots of self care, and remember to stay away from assholes that makes you feel bad about being yourself. ( sorry, but it's really important)

DON'T EVER let the world convince you that you're someone you're NOT!

On Finding Joy In Life.

And here we are; we all want that thing called happiness. We search for it, work for it expecting it to find it in money, houses, and relationships .

The funny thing about it is that the more we want to achieve it the less we are to attain it, because it's not the future that holds it .( the future doesn't exist.)
We get worried and anxious if we are not happy or at least satisfaied in a long term; some of us work harder to get more money expecting to be happiest with the income ;instead we end stressed out feeling anxious and we lose control on ourselves making us  feel miserable.
As have been said: happiness can't be attained by pursuing material things or people. It's a personal thing and you can't be happy every single momment.  You'll have bad days ( we all do) and that's completely fine.
As we learn a bit how life works we'll see each day as a new opportunity to be better and kind to ourselves and others to not rely on expectations;  if expectations are not meet we'll end hurting ourselves.

Things to remember and practice for a joyful life.
  1. Be grateful with what you have.
  2. Be present in the momment, no matter what you're doing. ( chores or work doesn't have to be boring ; be present, mindful, and have fun.)
  3. Find joy in the little things that life offers to you.
  4. Help someone whenever you have the opportunity to. ( you could make their day; you never know what other people is going through.)
  5. Be kind to others; kindness is contagious.
  6. Be. Authentic and keep true to yourself.
  7. Smile more; it's contagious too.( now it sounds epidemic  I know.)
  8. Do more of what makes you happy.( that feeling when your heart jumps of happiness; You'll know it, pay attention.
  9. Bring out more often your inner child; your inner child knows lots of things about yourself that you've forgotten; he knows how to have fun too. (Embrace it)
  10. If you're blessed with true friendships, keep them close; nurture your friendship. ( remember; quality over quantity is oky.)
  11. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Not being perfect is completely fine. (No one is)
Happiness is an inside job; You'll have bad days but they won't define your life.

On Being Alone But Not Lonely.

As we grow up we developed the need of being in company of people who validate our actions ;  care about our feelings and comfort us at any given time.
There will be times when you're left alone; all by your own. It will be not always our choice; for example divorce, breakup, moving to live by your own or even loss. It's scary for many of us to be alone; we relate to be alone with loneliness which is not the same.  Being alone is not too comfortable at the beginning, hard to get use to be with yourself.many of us avoid it at any cost . Some of us being alone is boring, uncomfortable and depressing. We just don't know how to behave and feel comfortable.  What we ignore is that being in solitude it's a huge opportunity to know better ourselves; to be comfortable with who we are. It should be taken as a opportunity to development and growth as a human being. There's so much gained from learning to rely, and more importantly, to trust your own inner voice as the best source of your own guiandance.
It allows you to drop your " social guard " giving you the freedom to be introspective to think for yourself. It gives you the ability to make better choices and decisions about who you are without any outside influence.

As you get comfortable with your own company; you became more aware of what you truly want in a relationship, but also to be happy with yourself which is important if you want a deeper and meaningful relationship with other person.
The bottom line is that you cannot possibly have a healthy relationship with others if you haven't learned to have a healthy relationship with yourself.
Give yourself the gift of your own time and energy --- there's nothing more worth it.

Do You Use Or Waste Your Time ?

"How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives"  Annie Dillard

Waste Of  Time:  The devotion of time to a useless activity; "the waste of time prove fatal"  ("mindless dissipation of natural resources")

Though we all know how limited our lives in the time-space continuum, we sometimes act like we don't know the value of time. We use words like spend, kill or or waste when we speak of how we while away the infinite number of hours in each day.

Let's face it, some people are more open to distractions than others. It's possible that you're inviting distraction into your work like a magnet.

The good news is that you're not alone. This is call procrastination, not following trough on your priorities, and time being wasted. Fix it by learning to close your door, both physically and figuratively.
Learning The Self Discipline to stay on task doesn't  come naturally.  But remember -when you prioritize a task as highly important, you're giving yourself permission to shut yourself off from interruptions.

planning ahead (scheduling) is the best way to not waste the priceless time you have and not fall into the trap " I have enough time...I'll do it later, or... tomorrow?...

Spending More Than You Earn?

When you spend more money than you earn each month you're bond to have problems very quickly. The bad is that the most of us  never realize we are spending that much until it is too late.

Go through every monthly required bill . Ask yourself Do you really need that Netflix enough, or could you just rent a movie once in a while from redbox?  Do you really use your cell phone much at all, or could you just replace it with a pay-as you- go phone?  Then. Go through each bill and see if there are any optional services you can eliminate.

  • Do you really need premium cable?

Do you really need unlimited text messages?

Keep diligent track  of your spending.   Keep a notebook in your pocket  and write down every expense you have. The simple process  of doing this will make you think twice  about unnecessary expenses written down, take careful look at them. Ask yourself  whether or not each of these expenses  actually contributed  to the value and joy of your life. That process will offer  a lot of  insight for you as to where your spending is going to waste.

Difference between Wants  & Needs.  You might need groceries , but want lobster. What's important in your life? What do you value? Begin to look at your purchases and identify  then as need or want. Stick with only the needs until you get your spending under control.

Bulk is Good. Think about shopping and buying in bulk. Save money grocery  shopping  by planning meals. In advance and bulk-buying, you can also  save money by cooking in bulk. This is a real way you can save money with little preparation and almost no extra outlay .Always purchase generics when you can.

Stop Using Credit Cards. Pay everything with cash or money orders. Don't even use checks. It's easier to overspend when you're pulling from a bank or credit account  because you don't  know exactly how much is in there. If you have cash, you can see your  supply running low. You can even bundle  up the predetermined amount of cash  allocated for each expense with a label or keep separate jars from each expense.

10 Tips To Brake The Routine.

Routine makes you stick to the usual way of doing things and not look for new or innovative ways  to do better. And while you're  busy  enjoying this comfort  zone, others are creeping ahead of you. This is why routine is a real and present danger in this day and age.

  • 1) Change your mindset. Stop thinking that change is a risk whatever you do be creative, at your job and daily life. Just be creative and do something new. Old ideas may work...at some point, but it doesn't guarantee for current and future issues.

  • 2)Take it easy. It's like being baby again...step by step... you don't have to make a huge change in a few days, change your routine a little at time and you'll gradually build up the motivation to change more.

  • 3) Are your evenings packed with emails and chores? Or do you spend your evening hours drifting around the house aimlessly watching TV  and pretty much filling time until  you go to bed? Neither is specially healthy. Why dot to go out for a weeknight, for a change? this will make you go to bed satisfied that you've done something interesting and enjoyable.

  • 4) Plan your calendar. Once you know your priorities, sit down with your planner and see what you can make adjustments. If you don't schedule those things that are important to you they will always take get pushed aside.

  • 5)Take a brake from barriers and boundaries. Do something you did not know you could. Overcome your fear and amaze yourself.

  • 6) Do something totally out of the ordinary regularly.

  • 7)Sometimes our routine become boring because we lose the sense of wonder, we're no longer guessing what will happen and know almost exactly how our days will play out,  so shake it up!! Take a different route to a place you regularly go, visit a new place, do something you're nervous to do.Take a new project,or maybe it's as simple as doing one of these tips if it's way out of your regular routine. adding something new to your business (or even your personal life)

  • 8) Learn a new language, it's very helpful on life and it will open you many doors ahead and I'm sure that your brain will be very grateful because it will keep your brain cells awake .

  • 9)Get your full quote of sleep. The easiest and most pleasurable way to do this is, get into bed a little early. Prepare for bed time like you would for a date (and bed time will be wonderful way to date yourself) Take a warm shower, pamper your skin with a softening after bath lotion, dim the lights, and climb into the comfort of crisp. clean sheets, breathe deep, and let your mind gradually settle into restfulness.

  • 10) Don't forget to relax because it's very important to enjoy every second.

The change challenging

The day I decided to move on. I found it hard at first,  It was a lonely and dark night of January, feeling the cold on my face while thinking about some old thoughts ...It was something about how to live a change in my own life. I have seen many changes in others life but not mine...it was something wrong I thought. how to do it? Why I need a change? It’s because the life am living becomes a little harder than it was? ... so many questions and not much answers.

Changes are everywhere, every second we live, every heartbeat, every breathing, every step we take, every thought we have on mind is changing us. Yes, changing seems hard but sometimes is necessary and there’s a huge reason to move from the past to let go all the pain... living as we want to get the freedom we deserve as human beings. All is in constant changing. The genetic, technology... don’t you think ? are we living the change we deserve?   Many questions isn’t it? I hope to find out  some answers myself...

Fulfill your dreams today. Realiza tus suenos hoy.

Have you asked yourself today about what would you do if today were your last day alive?

I have myself....and I'm writing this lines because I want to share my thoughts with you,

It's kind of motivation to do what really matters in life, for yourself and the people you love, we for sure don't like to think about dead, because it's easier to think that we have a long life to live and enough time to fulfill your dreams.

the truth is that we never knows when out time will " turn off",

I have myself postponed my dreams...my life for tomorrow "the future" and worry about everything I have even lived yet.

postpone your worries for tomorrow and live your dreams today. it's the advice I give myself today.  have a wonderful day. J.R.

The imagination.

Having imagination, it takes you an hour to write a paragraph that, if you were unimaginative, would take you only a minute.  Or you might not write the paragraph at all.  ~Franklin P. Adams, Half a Loaf, 1927
